For the second show part of the global Citadel universe, we were tasked with creating a unique identity that broadens the world of Citadel and highlights Diana's dual existence as an undercover agent operating behind enemy lines.

Main Title

Along side Mohamed Kissarli and James Vaughan at Ignition, we came up several rounds of titles ranging from a flat stylised graphic approach to fuller 3D builds.

Alongside the client, we were keen to make sure we explored the full range of possibilities for the series and honing in what makes the show unique.

Our foundational concept for the title design was to focus on three main elements:
- Diana as a strong female lead, without being cliché
- The double life Diana leads,
- Honouring the Citadel mothership while establishing it’s own identity

As the routes were shared and iterated on, one of the original titles we presented - named ‘Stencil’ - become the preferred route, eventually becoming the chosen title for the show.

Once the title was created it was then rolled out across all print and AV assets, with a slight modification on external media to emphasise Citadel’s name recognition.

Title Sequence

Title Sequence 〰️

Once the title was finalised, we began work on the opening sequence. We worked up 4 initial styles, one of which was then chosen to pursue that eventually become that final sequence for the show.

Chris Caswell led the sequence, and alongside myself and Mohammed Kissarli worked on the full animation. For a full breakdown of the sequence, see Chris Caswell’s portfolio site.

Once the animation was signed off, I worked through the finishing process of clean-up and tweaks before creating the final 4K ACES HDR files for final delivery.

Alongside the title and opening sequence, we also worked up the in show overlay graphics - open/end cards and lower thirds - that appear throughout the series.
